Instant gratification and dealing with its consequences is what inspired South African, Diepkloof Soweto native KAI ANDREWS to write Blacks & Fast Food. The term "Fast Food" draws from the phrase "Fast Food Mentality", a psychological state prioritizing immediate gratification and convenience over long-term value, patience, and quality. It poses as impatience, impulsive decision making, and a rushed lifestyle that reduces time for reflection. "Blacks" is a term KAI uses to describe the people in his life, who are mostly black people, however the subject matter and title is not restricted to just himself and his black peers. It applies to all, as it is a human experience. This is just through Kai's lens, and how it affected him, and the people around him.
Enduring depression grief and heartache and by using vices like the party lifestyle and alcohol to escape, KAI puts all these stories into 15 songs, with a suitable resolve.
